Hi, I’m Tricia from Alexandria, Virginia. Thank you for considering me as an adoptive parent for your most precious gift. I know that this is not an easy decision for you. Therefore, I admire your strength, tenacity, and courage.
If I am selected your child will be raised in a loving home with an amazing family & extended community.
Over the course of my life, I’ve discovered three things that are most important to me: Living by my core values, cherishing my family & giving back to my community. Growing up in a small, rural town, I learned the value of work, integrity and fun. Whether at work or at home, those around me know that they can count on me. I pride myself in being a good sister, mentor and friend while helping others do the same. Through my sorority, my diverse network, and my educational pursuits, I seek to be the best person that I can through my service, my faith, my love for my community, and all those around me.
While I cannot biologically have children, I know that my faith and love will bridge the relationship that I have with my future child.
I have lots of hobbies and interests that include spending time with family and friends, taking tennis lessons, watching sports and traveling. In fact, I have had the pleasure to visit over 30 states plus Puerto Rico, and over 15 countries including Australia, Japan, Thailand, and The Netherlands.
I'm lucky to spend time tutoring reading and mathematics with my younger cousins and kids in my community. These are all things I can't wait to experience with my future child.
I grew up in rural, Southeastern North Carolina where literally one stop light and one gas station were the center of our town. My parents were both educators and pillars in the community (my mom, a home economics teacher and my dad, a math teacher/principal). My sister, who is about 5 years older than me, I learned a lot from. We grew up closely connected to our extended family including a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. They say I am accomplished, fun-loving, and adventurous as well as someone who loves children, loves life, and loves having a great time. Through this community, I learned the importance of a village in raising a family and I look forward to sharing this with my future child.
I am a Director of People & Communities, commonly known as Human Resources, where I help people be their best in the workplace. Since my work is flexible, I have the great privilege of working from home.
I am finishing my Doctorate in Education in Leadership and Learning, which will ensure career flexibility as my child gets older. This will allow me to pivot should I desire to leave corporate America and have summers off with my family.

Currently, I live just outside our nation’s capital in the quiet, suburban town of Alexandria, Virginia. I live in a lovely town home with friendly neighbors including people and pets. In my neighborhood, we have a preschool, an elementary school and a beautiful local park that includes tennis courts, baseball fields, and nature trails.
Not only do I get to enjoy all of the seasons, I live within a few hours of both the beaches and the mountains with lots of activities. I am close enough to Washington, DC (less than 10 miles) that we can explore all the Smithsonian museums or the National Zoo at a moment's notice.
And since I love sports, I occasionally catch local games and events including the Washington Commanders, Nationals, Wizards and the Citi Open.
Over the years, I’ve had the great opportunity to build my own village filled with wonderful friends, family and sorority sisters. For instance, my sister is a professor and administrator at Georgetown University and will be an active part of our lives. My best friends (Jillian, Keyana, and Chey) are ready to jump in and provide additional support and guidance. Last but not least, my extended family are all on standby to step in and they are eager to be a part of the village. I even have a younger cousin who's an adoptee and will be a great mentor. With all of this in mind, I know that having a strong support system is important for me and my future child.
As a group, we are a faith-filled, loving & loyal bunch. We enjoy good food, fun times and great fellowship whether celebrating holidays, playing games or traveling together.
“I'm new to fatherhood. But I have found several meaningful traits to raising a child. Patience, kindness, unconditional love, and generosity. All of which, these flow out of Tricia naturally. I know this to be true because of the way Tricia came to my aid when I was at the lowest point of my life. And the way Tricia treats my daughter now and helping to plan a good future for her. Tricia would be a great momma.” - A note from Jonathan (Cousin)
“I feel that Tricia will make an excellent mom, based on her characteristics of being nurturing, loving, reassuring, and a good listener. Tricia's always been one to help others become the best persons they can be.” - A note from Jerie (Aunt)
“Tricia is a family oriented, independent, world traveler who can provide a well-rounded and grounded upbringing surrounded by love and support." - A note from Giovanni (Cousin)
Thank you for considering me as a future mother of your child. You are amazing and courageous, and I promise to honor the love and support that you have for your child by providing them with the best life that I possibly can. With prayers, patience and a little humor along the way, I know that the future is bright for us all. Thank you once again.
