Greetings! My name is Whitney and I am from Colorado Springs, Colorado. I want to thank you for the difficult choice you have made in thinking about placing your child for adoption. I greatly respect and appreciate the difficulty of the choice you are making.
I recognize that this must be a very difficult decision for you, but I want you to know that I would be honored if you choose me as an adoptive parent to raise your child.
I have always wanted to be a mother, and have known that I wanted to adopt since early in my life. I love children, and want to provide a loving and secure home; one full of love, laughter, and learning. It has been a long-time dream of mine to adopt. I have a large extended family and many close friends, all of whom are excited to be a part of my future child’s life.
I grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado and actually live in and own the home I grew up in. On the weekends, I like to visit with family and friends and take my dog hiking. If the weather is warm enough, my mother likes to join us on our hiking trips.
Some of my favorite childhood memories are exploring the wilds of Alaska, learning how to kayak, spending time at a family cabin in the mountains, and spending Christmas at the hot springs. I hope to share some of those experiences with my future children.
I work as a lawyer helping people with their estate planning needs (writing wills, trusts, and powers of attorney), guardianships, and probates. I’m very lucky to have a family oriented office. My boss believes family is important and is always happy to work with the employees to ensure their home needs are being met first and foremost. This may mean working from home so that you can take care of your sick child if need be, or even coming in late if there is a school delay due to weather. It also means that we generally only work regular business hours.
My parents are divorced, but I have a good relationship with both of them. My mother lives with me (after selling me her house) and is a great source of inspiration and support. My father currently lives in Idaho with my grandfather, and we regularly connect by phone and video calls. My grandfather has gone through the adoption process with one of my uncles, and is extremely excited and supportive to see me going through the adoption process now.
I have one younger brother, Aaron, who is currently in the air force and stationed overseas. We are excited to welcome him home later this year. I have a hoard of cousins of varying ages and we all try to get together at least three times a year if not more. Many of my cousins have children of their own and are excited for me to begin this journey. I also love taking my niece and nephews for the day on fun adventures.
I have a standard poodle named Dax and a ragdoll cat named Grayson. Both of them love children, and greatly enjoy when my niece and nephews are over. Grayson, true to his breed, goes limp like a “ragdoll” when he’s picked up and carried around, and Dax thinks that children are the best thing ever. My pets will make great companions to your child!
My friends are like family, too! My friend group is very close knit. There are about eight of us who have been friends from our very first year in college, and one I have been friends with since 2000 when we met in middle school. We regularly visit with each other, either by phone calls, video calls, or in person visits at least bi-monthly. My friends’ children all call me Aunt Whitney, or Aunt Oatmeal (as mentioned in my fun facts) and my friends are thrilled to be honorary Aunts and Uncles to my future children. One of our favorite things to do is to dress up and go to the renaissance festival during the summer.
Your child will be welcomed into my family with open arms and hearts! We are very excited about a little one being a part of our traditions and creating new ones with them!

I love where I live in Colorado Springs, Colorado because it has a small town feel while actually being a fairly large city. I live close to great hiking trails, lots of parks, and downtown is only a short 20-minute drive away. I have lived in Colorado for most of my life except for two years where I lived in Washington state to go to law school, and can’t imagine living anywhere else. I have many family members within an hour’s drive of my home, and it is a family tradition to spend the holidays at each other’s houses.
Colorado Springs is big on having lots of city parks, and many of the parks are connected by paved pathways. One of the parks closest to my house has a splash pad for children in the summer, and soccer, tennis, and baseball fields ready and waiting for children to enjoy. In the summertime, my mother and I sometimes take Dax and walk to Panera Bread for breakfast on one of the many connecting paths.
I believe my daughter will not only be a good mother, but that she is also stepping into this with her eyes wide open. She is strong, yet gentle. She examines with understanding and discernment and is a careful decision maker. As a family we wish nothing but the best for her future baby and for the birth parents. I wish for this wonderful, very unselfish birth mother to have happiness, joy, and every good thing; and, I want to tell her I was in your shoes many years ago. - Marcia, Whitney’s Mom
The family can’t wait until Whitney is able to add a child to our growing family. We are ready and excited to support her in any way we can. - Whitney’s Uncle, Bill
When I think of how compassionate, loyal, and sincere Whitney has been as a best friend, I could only wish for her to be able to share those traits with a child. Whitney has been an amazing influence to my boys and I whole heartedly trust her with my children’s care. - Whitney’s best friend, Mindi
We asked Whitney to be the godmother to our daughter and have always been so glad of that decision. She is so thoughtful of her, so invested in her future, and so natural in the way she nurtures her. I am excited for the day she gets to pour her love and devotion into a child of her own, because I am sure that child will grow up knowing how deeply they are cared for. Whitney is committed to the people in her life, always stable and calm, always ready to listen before she speaks. She will make a fantastic mother. - Whitney’s good friend, Jesse
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my profile and considering me as an adoptive parent to your child.
