To us, adoption is a special journey, and we’d be honored to share it with you. We were blessed to welcome our Millie via adoption in 2023, and she changed our lives in all of the best ways. We look forward to learning your preference for staying in touch so you will always know your child is safe, cherished, and thriving in our home.

We met in our very 1st class at Boston College and have been inseparable ever since, together now for 17 years! Who knew our little crush would turn into a lifetime partnership? We quickly became best friends and eventually, the loving couple we’re proud to be today. We’ve grown up together and sometimes it’s hard to see where one of us ends and the other begins. After Matt proposed in our favorite place in the mountains of upstate New York, we got married in those same mountains in 2016. On March 27, 2023, we became a family of 3 when Amelia (Millie) entered the world. She has brought us more happiness – and laughter – than we ever could have imagined! Soon after welcoming Millie, we moved into our forever home in Culver City, California.

Since I was a child, I’ve had a passion for protecting the environment and was lucky enough to turn this into a successful career! After leading the sustainability & resilience practice at a national engineering firm for over a decade, I launched my own company in 2021. I love making a difference each day. Plus, I now have the flexibility to set my own hours and work from anywhere! The extra time with Millie has been amazing.

She has a passion for the environment and is dedicated to leaving the planet a better place for every child who will grow up in it. Most importantly, Carly was meant to be a mom. She is gentle, loving, and would do anything for Millie.”

Although it sometimes feels surreal to say, I am a writer for the show Family Guy. I originally worked in Finance but wanted to truly love going to work each day. Over 15 years ago, I decided to change careers and – fortunately – the decision paid off. I couldn’t be happier to make a living writing jokes and seeing them on TV each Sunday night! Unlike many jobs, my schedule includes months off each summer for lots of family time between seasons.

“Matt is the definition of a protector. He would do anything for his family or, truly, for anyone in need. He is unendingly loyal, thoughtful, and sensitive. He is the strongest person I know, and I am always happier in Matt’s company. Seeing him as a father is the 2nd greatest joy of my life (after being a mom). He is the most loving dad I’ve ever seen, is constantly finding new ways to help Millie learn and grow, and can make her laugh with a look – all while being the best partner I could ask for.”

Millie will be the BEST big sister. She is gregarious, intelligent, beyond funny, and just the sweetest little girl. We are in awe of her. She loves playing with other kids at the playground, reading any book we can find (and even “reads” on her own – which is hilarious), swimming, and making us “tea parties.” She also just discovered ice cream cones, and is sold! At 2.5 years old, she is starting to ask for a baby brother or sister, and we cannot wait for that wish to come true.

Two separate families – Matt’s outside of Boston, MA, and Carly’s in Syracuse, NY – have come together time and time again to support us as a couple and now our Millie. Matt is the youngest of five and very close with all of his siblings. Carly has two older brothers, both of whom are her heroes and role models. The 14 combined cousins are absolutely head-over-heels with Millie and so excited to celebrate a new addition! Although they live on the east coast, it’s important to us to stay close with loved ones, so we Facetime daily and take extended trips to visit. These include a month around Christmas and the entire summer each year thanks to our work flexibility.

Carly’s parents, 3 nieces, 2 brothers, & sister-in-laws kicked off the summer at a dude ranch in the Catskills Carly’s parents are 2 of her best friends – her mom was even her matron of honor at her wedding! Millie LOVES her cousins – especially little Edie, who is just 4 months younger

Cousins galore! Our trips to Massachusetts are always full of family time – whether that be barbeques, pool days, or running around to the countless hockey/baseball/ softball games or recitals.

Just steps from a playground and the school Millie (and hopefully her sibling) will attend, we feel like we hit the jackpot with our home in Culver City, California. There’s also an ice cream shop that we frequent way too often, our local grocery store, and other necessities within walking distance. We spend most afternoons/evenings in our backyard or biking around the neighborhood, and can’t wait to share this all with another little one! Our 1st home was an adorable condo just 2 miles away – which we have held onto and currently rent. This means we can still use the pools.

Carly’s parents have a cabin in the Adirondacks, which has become our 2nd home. Matt even proposed there, and we were married at the local inn almost 10 years ago. Bringing our children to “the Woods” was always the dream so that they can experience the magic – the lake, the mountains, the people, and – as icing on the cake – a water park 10 minutes away!

We have both stayed close with our friends from “home” while making new, lifelong ones in California. They are truly family and are always there for us. Millie has quickly bonded with our friends’ children, which is so special! Our outings are a lot more hectic, but we wouldn’t have it any other way!

You may be wondering how we spend our days…we love staying active, which is one of the reasons we are happy to live in Southern California. It’s been a blast watching our daughter enjoy it all just as much. We take nightly walks together, bike as a family, swim as much as possible (Millie is absolutely obsessed with the water!), spend WAY too much time at the playground, and have recently enjoyed watching her play soccer and groove around at dance class.
