Hello! We’re Tracie and Bobby from San Lorenzo, California. We can’t imagine how hard this decision truly has been for you and are thankful for your courage and strength. We know your child will always be important to you and we will make them the center of our lives. We promise your child will always be loved and supported and their lives will be full of fun and adventure. We are so excited for this opportunity to become parents. Adoption has been a part of Bobby’s family from the beginning as both his mom and uncle were adopted. Two of our best friends also adopted three siblings to form their family of five. For us, blood does not make you family, love does. Around a decade ago, we decided to try to grow our family. Through our struggles with infertility, we turned to God and felt He was leading us to the path of adoption. Since making the decision to adopt, we are hopeful and our excitement has grown. We both have so much love to give. We cannot wait to become parents!

We met in high school, and despite Tracie’s best efforts to get Bobby to call her (even after writing her number in his yearbook), it wasn’t until our 5-year reunion that our story began. We married in 2012 and have filled our lives with love, support, and laughter. We fill our free time at home playing games, watching movies and TV shows, having BBQs in our backyard, enjoying a walk to the local park, and just spending time with family and friends. Many of our weekends are filled with travel. We enjoy weekend trips to different lakes with our motorhome and boat, fishing trips, and traveling around California to visit family and friends. We also do an annual, week-long trip to the beach with a group of close friends. We are grateful for the many blessings in our life and can’t wait to share them with our future child.

While we both enjoy bass fishing, this is Bobby’s passion. When he is not fishing, he is doing maintenance on his boat, tying on new lures, spooling a reel, making his own tackle, or watching fishing on TV. Bobby is very handy and we both enjoy working on things around the house. Tracie enjoys baking, especially chocolate chip cookies (our favorites). We also enjoy playing card, dice, and board games (especially Backgammon). We both have a competitive nature and grew up playing baseball and softball and enjoy watching baseball games. We especially enjoy watching our friend’s kids play Little League. While we enjoy many activities with the kids in our lives (amusement parks, mini golf, meals out), our favorite thing to do is have Nerf wars. They don’t happen often, but they are epic.

I grew up as an only child. I teach at our local high school where I teach students with moderate to severe disabilities and I love my job. I am so lucky to have holidays and summer vacation off to be home with our future child. The three things I value most in my life are faith, family, and friends. My faith helps guide me and strengthen me when things get tough. My family and friends are a very important part of my life. I enjoy socializing with them and spending as much time with them as possible. Although I am an only child, through my close friends, I have become an aunt. I am excited to be a mom and for our child to grow up with all of their “cousins”. I have always loved camping and now I get to enjoy the comforts of home in our motorhome. I enjoy the beauty of the places we travel to, but especially enjoy the memories we are making in those places. I enjoy playing games; board games, card games, dice games, any type of game. I also enjoy baking, especially cookies. I look forward to sharing these things and creating memories with our future child.

How can I tell you more about my best friend? Tracie is a loving, loyal, and supportive wife and has made me a better man just being with her. She is strong-willed and once she sets her mind to something, there is no stopping her. She is always doing something to show her appreciation for people in her life. Whether it be her buying gifts for her coworkers at the end of the school year or performing her magic in the kitchen baking cookies for all of the neighbors at Christmas time. Tracie is very dedicated. We had rescued a senior dog, Maggie. Maggie had medical issues and there was nothing Tracie wouldn’t do for her. Seeing what she did for our dog, I believe Tracie will move mountains for our future child. One of my favorite things about her is that she is so easy to talk to. I watched her talk to and give advice to one of our friend’s kids at a little league game one day. It was so effortless for her to carry on the conversation for the whole game. For all of these reasons, I tell Tracie all the time that she is going to be a great mom.

I am a laid-back, hard-working, fun-loving guy. I’ve lived in the San Francisco Bay Area my whole life in the San Lorenzo Village. I grew up in my grandmother’s house with my mom and sister. It was a loving, tight-knit, supportive household to grow up in with good morals and values taught. From an early age, I’ve taken on the role of man-of-the-house and feel like I can fix anything, so I am never afraid to take on a home project. Right out of high school, I went into the sheet metal trade and eventually joined the local sheet metal union where I am currently working as a sheet metal journeyman. Nothing is more important to me than faith, family, friends, and bass fishing. There is nowhere else I’d rather be than camping with my family and friends at the lake with the bass boat tied at the dock ready to go. I am excited to become a father and be there for our future child every step of the way. I have worked hard my entire life and am committed to being an active and loving father and to be the best dad I can be.

Bobby is an amazing man. He is my best friend. He is loyal, kind, caring, and funny. He is always there when I need a laugh or to let the stress go from a bad day. He is the first person I want to share things with when they happen. He puts my needs above his own and will do the same for our child. Bobby loves deeply and plays hard. He cares so much about his family and friends and would do anything for them. He is wonderful with our nieces and nephews. From watching them play baseball to taking them to amusement parks, he loves hanging with the kids. One of his favorite things is having Nerf wars. I remember one time he even built cardboard shields out of boxes for the “battle”. Bobby is handy and can truly fix anything. We have a beautiful home and almost everything done in our house has been done by him (with a little help from me). He enjoys showing me how to do things too. I know he cannot wait to share this knowledge with our future child and I cannot wait for him to become a dad.

We love our little home in the San Lorenzo Village. There is so much to do around our house and community. We enjoy playing games or watching TV and movies in our living room. We enjoy cooking and baking in the kitchen or outside on one of the different types of cooking equipment. We have an incredible outdoor space. The concrete patio is cozy and fully covered and sits next to our three-hole putting green. We are two blocks from an amazing park with multiple playgrounds (including a zipline), softball and soccer fields, a pond that has bass to fish, dog parks, open space, walking paths, and soon will have bocce ball courts. The Little League fields are only minutes away. We are so fortunate to live in the Bay Area where we are close to so many amazing places. We are 20-minutes from San Francisco, 40-minutes from Santa Cruz, and a few hours from the mountains. Our home and community are very special and we are so excited to be able to share these things with our future child.

We are so fortunate to have such a supportive and loving family and group of close friends. While Tracie’s parents live 3 hours away, we still see them monthly and talk to them daily. Bobby’s mom, sister, and our brother-in-law live minutes away. We see them regularly and try to get together for dinner or a game night every few weeks. Bobby’s dad lives about an hour away and we also see him at least monthly. With our family, we enjoy hosting family gatherings, attending local events (like the rodeo or county fair), camping trips, going to baseball games, or gathering all together for holidays. Majority of our close friends live near us, while a few live an hour or so away. All of our friend’s children have become our nieces and nephews. We like to get together with them as often as possible and really enjoy spending time with the kids. We really love making memories with them and are excited to watch our future child play with their cousins. Every one of our “village” members that we have told about our wish to adopt has been overjoyed and supportive. They are all so excited to meet our newest addition and to see us as parents.

Our faith and spiritual foundation are extremely important to us. We want our future child to have the same spiritual foundation and connection with God. We value integrity, respect, compassion, and kindness, which we will instill in our future child. We want to teach our future child to value hard work and to take pride in whatever they do. We want to pass along our love for the outdoors through our camping and fishing trips. We also want to teach our future child to have good manners, be a good listener, and be able to talk through things.

We are so excited to become parents! We want to share Bobby’s passion for fishing and Tracie’s baking skills with our future child. We are excited to plan and celebrate our future child’s birthdays and milestones. We ultimately want our future child to grow up surrounded by love and to always feel supported. If an open adoption is something you are considering, we welcome it. We want our future child to know where they came from and know that they have been loved from the beginning.
