Greetings from sunny Southern California! We are Laszlo and Eszter. We are so grateful that you’re taking the time to read about us, and we’re excited to share as many glimpses of our life as we can with you. We hope that reading our profile will bring you some peace, knowing that, even before your baby is born, there are already many people sending them love from afar. We may not know you yet, but we know this is a deeply personal decision, and we have so much respect for the care and thought you’re putting into it. We hope that, one day, we will have the chance to meet you and learn more about you as well.

We have always seen adoption as a meaningful and beautiful way to build a family and have long admired the opportunity to welcome a child with love. While growing our family biologically would have required medical intervention, adoption felt like the natural and right path for us. We also feel that this is the right time in our lives to begin a new chapter and grow from a couple into a family. we are incredibly excited to start the adoption process, and to begin our journey toward becoming parents.

We’ve been together for over a decade and a half and are a classic case of “opposites attract”: Eszter is a bubbly, passionate artist, while Laszlo is a calm and thoughtful scientist. Our love story began on the other side of the ocean. We grew up in the same small town in Hungary, close to the capital, and went to the same music school, where Laszlo learned piano from Eszter’s mom. We were in our late teens when we started dating, and only 4 years later we moved to the United Kingdom together to continue our studies. We fell in love with British culture and ended up staying for 7 years, during which we exchanged our marriage vows—3 times. Yes, we love weddings! About 4 years ago, our dream came true and we moved to San Diego, where the sun is always shining, and we can spend our days enjoying everything a big city has to offer and admiring the breathtaking nature around us.

We love spending quality time together doing simple things, whether it’s staying at home building LEGO sets, doing puzzles, and reading together on the sofa, or going out for walks by the ocean, grabbing an ice cream, and talking for hours. We can’t wait to take our future baby with us and show them just how stunning the sunsets are in this area.

We are both passionate about the arts and like visiting exhibitions and seeing plays, musicals, ballet performances, symphony orchestras, pop concerts, and films in movie theaters. We also enjoy creating art ourselves: we often play music together—Laszlo on the piano, Eszter singing and playing the flute—and on special occasions, we put together a small performance for our families. From time to time, we also take dancing lessons together, from salsa to line dancing.

We are also lucky to have a large group of friends and always take the opportunity to host all kinds of get-togethers throughout the year, such as Halloween parties, Friendsgiving, Christmas gatherings, movie nights, BBQs, and birthday parties by the pool. We already have a lot of ideas about how to make all these celebrations truly special for our future child.

Traveling is another big part of our lives. We enjoy exploring different parts of the United States, and we regularly fly to Europe to visit family and friends. We are excited to one day be able to bring our little one along on these memorable adventures.

I am a creative, passionate, whimsical person who loves everything that has a touch of magic: epic fantasy tales with fairies, dragons, and soulmates; sparkly dresses that make you feel like a princess; music that feeds your soul; trinkets that serve no purpose other than making you smile. The arts are my everything! I work as a singer and songwriter, play a ton of instruments, and am an aspiring writer working on my first novel. I’m also a huge fan of meaningful plays and movies, impressionist paintings, cool designs, and dancing. I thrive at organizing fun get-togethers for friends and family and creating a sense of community wherever we are. I cannot wait to be a mom, so I can finally share my excitement about all the wonder around us with my child. I especially look forward to taking my little one to Disneyland, snuggling up to read bedtime stories and sing lullabies, dressing up in matching costumes, playing with Lego and puzzles, celebrating every holiday imaginable, and showering them with love.

Eszter is the most inspiring person I know. She is not just beautiful, but full of warmth, passion, and joy. She has an incredible creative energy that flows into everything she does, whether it is her music, her writing, or the way she connects with people around her. She is brave in the way she approaches life, and her determination and strength motivate me too. She has a natural ability to bring light into any room she walks into; she is truly the sunshine of our community. Friends are naturally drawn to her compassion and she is often the one who supports others when they are going through difficult times. At the same time, she is hardworking and deeply committed to everything she puts her heart into. She has a natural way with children and loves playing with them and joining in their imaginative games. I feel very lucky to be married to her, and she continues to teach me about what truly matters in life. She is caring and full of love, and I have no doubt that she will be an amazing mother: patient, kind, and able to see the magic in everyday moments.

I’m calm and reliable, the kind of person who enjoys figuring things out and being there for the people around me. I can be a bit reserved at first, but with my friends, I’m open, enjoy long conversations and shared experiences. Staying active has always been important to me; skiing and soccer have been part of my life since I was young. Recently, I’ve also started surfing, and I love exploring the nearby desert on hikes. In my work as a scientist I research the energy of the future, work with amazing technology, and collaborate with people from all over the world. I really enjoy the challenge and the constant learning that comes with it. Becoming a parent is something I’m truly excited about. I look forward to sharing my interests, encouraging curiosity, and exploring the world together. I tend to be thoughtful, taking my time to do things carefully, and I will bring that patience into my parenting. I can’t wait for the everyday moments: playing, learning, discovering new things, and being a consistent, supportive presence in my child’s life.

Laszlo is my favorite person in the world: the most supportive husband, who has been there for me through all of life’s ups and downs. I have always admired him for his confidence, intelligence, and determination—traits that make him so successful at his job—as well as for his reliability, calm nature, and his willingness to grow together as partners. Ever since I’ve known him, he has encouraged me to pursue my goals and done everything he can to turn our dreams into reality. He also has a very romantic side. One of my favorite memories with him is when he flew me from Europe to Los Angeles to propose on top of the Griffith Observatory. Laszlo has always valued family above everything else. His patience and humor make him the most popular person among his young nieces and nephews. From the very beginning, I have known that one day he would make a wonderful father: warm, responsible, someone who can teach practical skills while also setting a good example when it comes to moral principles.

We live in a cozy apartment in San Diego, California, in a friendly residential area where everything is close by, including parks, shops, and a large open-air mall. Our apartment complex has a pool, jacuzzi, and barbecue area, making it easy to enjoy gatherings with friends. We also have a small balcony surrounded by greenery, which is one of our favorite spots to slow down on weekends. We are about a 10-minute drive from some of the best beaches, so beach days and ocean sunsets are a regular part of life for us. We love San Diego because it offers a perfect balance of beautiful nature and big city life with plenty of events, for instance the Del Mar Fair and the famous December Nights in Balboa Park—both excellent fun for children. The weather is sunny almost all year round, and we also have national parks and the desert within driving distance when we want a change of scenery. The area is very safe and family-friendly, with a strong and well-regarded school system. On top of that, there are plenty of world-class attractions nearby, including Disneyland, Universal Studios, SeaWorld, the San Diego Zoo, and Safari Park, all within easy reach for fun trips with our future child.

We both really enjoy discovering new places together. Laszlo attends several conferences each year in the US and abroad, and Eszter often joins him, which allows us to explore new cities as part of his work travel. When we go to Europe to visit family, we sometimes extend our trips and spend a few extra days somewhere new. Through these adventures, our future child will have the opportunity to experience other cultures and get to know different parts of the world. Our future child will be a US, Hungarian, and British citizen, and we want to raise them accordingly. We look forward to celebrating a mix of holidays and traditions from all three cultures: watching fireworks on July 4th and hosting Thanksgiving dinners; giving each other flowers on name days and hiding chocolates in boots on Saint Nicholas Day; gathering around a bonfire on Guy Fawkes Night and sharing an English breakfast. If our child has roots in another culture, we’d be excited to learn about it and make it part of our everyday family life.

Most of our family still lives in the same small town in Hungary, including Eszter’s parents, Laszlo’s parents, his two siblings, their five children, and our many relatives. We travel back twice a year to celebrate Christmas and birthdays together. Those visits are filled with delicious home-cooked meals, board games, theatre outings, and playing music together. Even with the distance, we stay closely connected and speak with our families weekly. We are also proud to have maintained many of our childhood friendships over the years. Eszter’s sister is also her best friend, and they video call every few days. She and her husband live in the UK; visiting them also lets us reconnect with friends we made while living there. Eszter’s sister and brother-in-law fly to California every year, and we enjoy going on road trips together.

Here in San Diego, we have built a large and diverse group of friends. We love bringing people together and hosting gatherings for every special occasion, while also spending weekly time as part of a smaller close-knit group of six. Through our friends from all around the world, we have had the joy of experiencing traditions such as Lunar New Year, Nowruz, and Doljanchi, and we look forward to sharing that curiosity with a child one day.

A year ago, Eszter’s dream came true: we adopted a kitten from a rescue center. Bella is the most loyal furry friend anyone could ask for. She enjoys cuddles, play sessions, and trailing us around the house. She sleeps either on her princess bed on the couch next to Eszter while she works, or on Laszlo’s long legs while he watches TV. She’s very social, child-friendly, and loves being showered with attention by guests. We think it’s important to teach children to be kind to animals. We’re sure our future child will adore having a companion as fun as Bella.

We’re excited about becoming parents and sharing everyday life with our child. Spending quality time together is central to how we imagine family life. We want to build a home rooted in love, stability, and respect. Laszlo brings a calm, steady presence and looks forward to sharing his excitement for science, while Eszter brings energy, creativity, and a passion for the arts. Eszter will stay home with our child, while Laszlo, with flexible hours and the ability to work from home a few days a week, will also be actively involved in day-to-day family life. Together, we hope to provide a safe and reliable foundation that allows our child to feel supported while also being encouraged to become independent and confident in who they are. We value education and believe it can help children discover the different things that inspire them. We will support and guide our child as they grow into the person they are meant to be. We also plan to create holiday traditions that give a strong sense of belonging and continuity through the years. More than anything we hope our child grows up knowing we were always there for them, carrying that sense of safety and trust with them into adulthood.
