Hi there! We are Jenny & Naz from Santa Barbara, California. We want to take a moment to acknowledge how incredible you are for taking this step toward adoption for your child. Just know that we have the utmost respect for you and the beautiful, selfless choice you are making.
We appreciate you going to the effort to learn about us and our longing desire to become parents through adoption.
Adoption has been on our hearts for as long as we have been in a relationship together. As a couple, we have been struggling with infertility for over six years, but regardless of the circumstances that life has given us, we would have still pursued adoption to grow our family. So, with that, we would like to express how honored we feel to have this opportunity to share our lives with you.
Although neither of us were born in Santa Barbara, California, we were raised here and have called this beautiful place home from a very young age. We met in our home church when we were teenagers. Together, we served in our youth worship team where Naz played the electric guitar and Jenny sang vocals. However, we spent most of our time together in our weekly youth group meetings where our feelings for each other grew to be more than just friends.
We made our relationship “official” in high school and have been inseparable ever since. In 2015, we got engaged at Jenny’s most favorite place, Disneyland. Then in 2016, on our twelve-year anniversary, we got married at a gorgeous park a couple of blocks from our home.
Together, we have combined our loving families, built a wonderful community of friends, and have established deep roots in our home church. As a couple, we enjoy going on many different adventures, like traveling all over the world. We enjoy the outdoors and nature, and often go camping in different sites in California. We also enjoy beach days in this sunny town with friends and family, and every so often, we take spontaneous trips to places like Disneyland.
We cannot express how overjoyed we are to one day share all of these sweet adventures with our future child.
I was born in Portland, Oregon and was raised in Santa Barbara, California. I received an Associates in Science Degree for Early Childhood Education at Santa Barbara City College, which led toward a preschool teaching career of over thirteen years and counting. My work schedule allows me to have afternoons and weekends off, as well as holidays and a long summer break to spend my time with friends, family and most importantly our future child.
Some of my favorite passing times are when I’m home creating jewelry and snuggling our dogs while catching up on the latest tv shows (that I always seem to be behind on watching!). I find so much joy in being outdoors, soaking in the sunshine, and singing everywhere I go (not always well, ha!).
I dream so often about the day I get to share these same moments with our future child.
Jenny is a blessing in my life. She is a strong woman that is kind and loving. She always goes out of her way to make sure the people around her feel loved and encouraged. She is very thoughtful and always remembers the small things about every person. She is special to me because I know the amazing person she is and the amazing mother she will be.
I was born in Ukraine but at the age of two, my family immigrated to the United States and relocated in Santa Barbara, California, where I grew up.
I attended Santa Barbara Community College where I received an Associates in Science Degree for Radiology. I currently work as a Computer Tomography (CT) Technologist, where I work three days a week. This schedule allows me to consistently have four days off a week to enjoy my hobbies and spend time with the people I love. This schedule will definitely come in handy once it comes time to bring the new baby home! I am always up for outdoor adventures, such as traveling, surfing, hiking, playing disc golf or going on walks with our dogs.
I am super excited to have an opportunity to share & experience my favorite activities with our future child.
Naz is a very down-to-earth person. He is the comedic relief for everyone around him. He loves spreading laughter and joy everywhere he goes with his silly dad jokes. My most favorite quality about him is his passion for cooking and learning new skills in the kitchen. He seriously makes the most delicious meals! Naz is going to be such a fun and loving Dad and I cannot wait to see him fulfill that role.
We live in Santa Barbara, California, a coastal town that has many clean, safe beaches that are only a few minutes away from our home. Our home is a two-story townhouse in a sweet neighborhood that is filled with young families with children who fill the environment with their laughter. There is a small playground right around the corner of our home where many of our neighbors hang out during the evening time. There are also two gorgeous parks a couple blocks away from our home. One is a popular children’s playground and another one has a koi pond with ducks, turtles, and other wildlife. We walk regularly to these parks with our dogs and our Goddaughter who lives near us.
We look forward to many sunny beach days and daily walks to the park with our future child!
We have 2 dogs, Indie and Riley. Riley is a twelve-year-old toy poodle who acts like a puppy and enjoys laying in the sunshine all day. Indie is a six-year-old Aussie mix who will spend all her days playing fetch and trying to snuggle in your lap even though she’s eighty pounds. We love to explore different local hikes and beaches with our dogs, giving us the opportunity to explore our own big backyard. Indie and Riley love having children around our home, especially when they have snacks in hand for them to eat.
Our families are small but together we are mighty! We are very blessed to have both of our families live in Santa Barbara.
Jenny’s Family: Jenny’s immediate family consists of both her parents, Paul and Jhing, and her younger siblings, Jonathan and Jasmine. They all enjoy being outdoors as well as being crafty. Paul enjoys camping and barbequing a delicious meal. Jhing spends her time gardening and baking the yummiest desserts. Jonathan loves to surf and is an amazing woodworker. Jasmine enjoys painting and spending time with her close friends. Together, Jenny’s family loves their Christmas traditions and their weekly Sunday lunches after church. They are so excited to welcome a new little one into the family and are very supportive of our plans to adopt!
Naz’s Family: Naz’s parents are happily remarried and have wonderful relationships with each other. Naz’s mom Inna and her husband Jon, are retired and spend their time hiking together, traveling and enjoying their time with the grandkids. Naz’s Dad Gregory and his wife Oksana, also enjoy traveling all over the world and serve weekly at their local Ukrainian church. Naz also has an older sister, Ella, who is a trauma nurse and has two wonderful children, Kylie and Liam. Naz’s family enjoys going on annual trips together and an occasional evening tea time. They can’t wait for us to start our family and are all such a great support system!
Naz’s family gathers together every Easter and Thanksgiving to eat traditional Ukrainian food. At the dinner table we play a game called “Crack the Egg,” where every person picks a colorful boiled egg, then attempts to crack each other’s eggs by tapping them on top of another. The last egg that remains unbroken is the winner. Spoiler alert, Grandma wins every game!
Jenny’s family every December goes Christmas tree shopping and tree decorating with her family. We also go to our Christmas Eve church service together and traditionally open presents at her parent’s house afterward. Christmas morning, we open our stockings and eat delicious pancakes together.
Thank you so much for considering us as adoptive parents to your child!
Our promise to you is that we will love your child unconditionally, through all seasons of their life. Our home will be full of smiles, laughter, goodness, compassion and kindness every day! Together, we will go through the small and big things with support and guidance from each other and our community. Most importantly, the love you have for your child will always be known and recognized in our home. Thank you for taking the time to learn about us. We hope you consider us to be your sweet child’s parents. We pray that whatever decision you make, you feel at peace with yourself and in this selfless choice you are making.
