Hello! My name is Melissa and I’m from Los Angeles, California. Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me! I’m honored to be considered as an adoptive parent for your child. I admire your courage and strength while making this difficult decision. I’m looking forward to getting to know you and your wishes for your child. No matter what you decide, I think you are brave and I wish you all the happiness with your future.
It's always been my dream to be a parent, to love and raise a child. I can't remember a time when I didn't want to be a mom. While life hasn't worked out quite the way I envisioned, I'm ready to follow my heart and make this a reality for myself. Adoption is something I've considered for a long time and I know this is the right path for me to start a family. I'm very excited for this journey! Your child will be very loved, supported, and raised to be strong and kind.
I was raised in Connecticut and moved to Los Angeles fifteen years ago to pursue a dream of working as an editor in the entertainment industry. It was a giant leap of faith and although I gave myself one year to “try it out,” I quickly found my footing. I am very fortunate to have incredible friends in Los Angeles, and any time I miss my friends and family on the east coast I can easily schedule a trip to Connecticut to see them!
Family, friends and spending quality time together is very important to me because of the emotional support we are able to give each other.

What excites me most about becoming a parent is the love that comes with it. From passing down traditions, to being there and showing up for someone else emotionally, to the various activities we’ll be able to do together.
My favorite Holidays growing up were Easter and Christmas. On Easter my whole family had a tradition of backyard Easter egg hunts and getting baskets full of treats. On Christmas, the joy of waiting for Santa and opening presents with the family was unforgettable. Getting together with cousins for these events was always a highlight too.
Other great memories I have as a kid include vacations, school fairs, dance recitals and playing outside. I’m excited to share these traditions and activities with my future child and experience it again through their eyes.
I'm currently working from home as an Animation Editor for a long running cartoon. I absolutely love it. I have the option to remain remote, or to change to a hybrid work experience as time goes on. I feel very fortunate to have this flexibility with work as my lifestyle will undoubtedly change as I become a parent.
Spending time around my house; reading, puzzles, watching movies. I like photography and enjoy creating scrapbooks of special occasions. I also love spending time with friends, where we enjoy food, board games, musicals and sporting events.
In the last few years I’ve been lucky enough to travel to fun places like Italy, Mexico City and Disney World. My favorite destination was Tuscany, where we enjoyed wine tasting, sightseeing, and eating plenty of gelato.
I can’t wait to share with my child the magic of Disney! I’m very excited to be able to bring my child to Disneyland, which is pretty close.
I grew up going on vacations to Disney World with my family and I have amazing memories from these times. I can’t wait to share this magic and start creating new memories with my own future family.
I live in a two bedroom condo in the suburbs of sunny Los Angeles. I consider my home to be comfortable and cozy, and always ready to have people come over at anytime. My complex has grass areas to play, a pool and tennis courts, and lots of families. My neighborhood is quiet and perfect for long walks. I'm also close to parks, hiking trails, museums and other fun things to do. The beach is about an hour away, and I try to go several times a year.
Additionally, throughout the year towns close to mine have lots of events to enjoy with the family. From carnivals to pumpkin patches, we’re going to be able to fill our time with lots of fun seasonal activities. There are plenty of schools close-by and the district has a great reputation.
I have a super funny and energetic cat named Ryder. She’s three years old and loves to chase balls, play with lasers, and “help” me with my hobbies. She’s also very sweet, independent and will adjust very well to having an addition to the house.
I’m blessed to have amazing family and friends on both sides of the country. In Los Angeles I have a lovely group of close friends who are very supportive and excited for me to become a mom. I know I’ll be able to lean on them when I need to talk, when I need an extra pair of hands, or when I want to go out and experience something new and fun with the baby.
My family and friends in Connecticut are equally thrilled for this new addition to our lives. My parents and brothers are warm, open and enjoy spending time with the extended family. This will be the first grandchild and they are ready to shower my future child with love, hugs, and attention.
My best friend of thirty years, also named Melissa, lives back east and she has three children that I’ve watched grow up to be strong, independent and funny people. I’m excited for them to share in the life of your child and be great role models to them. We always go fun places when I’m home like bowling, mini golf, or swimming. We have BBQs in the summers and go see Christmas lights in the winter. Melissa is adopted and is my biggest cheerleader in this process.
“Melissa is wonderful with my three children- they all love her and she has been a consistent “aunt” to them for their whole lives (Cailynn, 18, Declan 14, Madaket, 10). We all love to spend time with Auntie MB! She has a special relationship with each child and goes out of her way to love and support them. I am so grateful to have a life-long friend like Melissa and I can’t wait to spoil her future baby!”
When I think about parenting, I believe communication should be prioritized. Feelings should be heard and valued. Learning and understanding are more important than obedience. Autonomy should be respected. It’s very important to me that my future child feel comfortable coming to me when they need comfort and support. I will be on their side, and teach them respect and empathy along the way. I also promise lots of hugs, reading before bed, help with schoolwork, and lots of baking.
Thank you for reading my profile and taking the time to get to know a little about me. I’m beyond excited for this next stage of my life as a mom. I plan to be open about our adoption journey and will honor you with love, honesty, and communication. I promise that your child will know about you and your story. I’m happy to send updates and keep in touch, how you wish. And as your child’s adoptive parent, I want you to know they will be loved unconditionally and encouraged to pursue their dreams.
