We hope to build a respectful, genuine connection and to offer a loving, supportive home. Sukanya is a Senior Engineer in the semiconductor industry who nurtures with warmth and purpose, and Baridhi is a Senior Financial Analyst who values steadiness and care. Adoption is a path that gently revealed itself to us over time, and we feel deeply drawn to the connection, love, and shared purpose it represents. We believe that family is created through love, commitment, and nurturing. We would be incredibly grateful for the opportunity to welcome a child into our lives and into a family that will stand beside them, offer unwavering support, and encourage them to grow confidently.

We first met online seven years ago. Because we were on different continents during graduate school, we exchanged messages for six months before finally meeting in person when Sukanya flew to Atlanta. For our first date, we shared lunch at a small Chinese restaurant, a moment we still smile about. Six months later, we took our first road trip together in the United Kingdom! Through the pandemic, we grew even closer through daily video calls, learning how to show up for each other no matter the distance. We were married in December 2021 while living on separate continents, and later both relocated to Phoenix to begin building our life together. Our mutual love and respect are the foundation of our marriage, and we’re so excited to begin our next chapter together, becoming parents.

After four years of living apart, we were overjoyed to move in together. This gave us a chance to better understand each other’s quirks and appreciate each other’s strengths. Traveling to new places quickly became our favorite way to spend our free time. From Europe to Asia, we’ve explored so many cultures and have had countless adventures. We can’t wait to take our future child along on many more outings, here in the U.S. and around the world. Our collection of travel magnets hangs in our living area, a small treasure trove that reminds us of the special moments we’ve shared across the world. Weekend board-game nights would be fun with a new participant joining us for Catan or Jenga. We’ve slowly built a love for hiking throughout the Southwest, exploring places like Yosemite, Saguaro, Bryce Canyon, Zion, the Grand Canyon, and Antelope Canyon! We look forward to exploring these and similar trails with a little one.

I grew up in a close-knit family, surrounded by love from my parents and sister. I am also very close to my older sister, and our connection has only grown stronger over the years. My love for travel motivated me to pursue my masters studies in France. After France, I went to the UK to pursue my PhD in Material sciences at the University of Cambridge. These 5 years of grad school at Cambridge was a very special experience with “Harry Potter” style halls and formal dinners. As a child, I learned singing and dancing. Over time, my love for the arts has grown through painting and coloring. I also find so much joy in baking cookies and cakes for my family. Through nature walks and cloud-gazing, I love reconnecting with myself after a hectic day at work. As a parent I am excited to share the simple joys that mean so much to me—reading bedtime stories, baking together in the kitchen, exploring nature, and nurturing a child’s curiosity, creativity, and sense of wonder as they grow.

Sukanya is an awesome person! She’s kind, caring, gentle, and has an infinite supply of generosity and consideration for her loved ones. Growing up in her family, she learned valuing human connections and personal thoughtfulness. Her love for food, cooking, and hosting friends has helped us cultivate our little village here in Phoenix. At work, she conducts research at the nano-scale level to make the latest computer chips. Her brilliance and detail-oriented work ethic carries over to her personal life. Over the years, I’ve learned so many things from her that have helped me broaden my perspective. Seeing her giggle and play with our nephew and niece, I can clearly see how much she’d love to share our lives with a child. She can’t wait to share her love for baking, cooking, and coloring with our future child. Her calm and compassionate nature will provide a secure, comforting presence for a child as they grow and navigate the world.

My parents raised me with simple values of love and trust in the foothills of the Himalayas. In college, I developed a love for soccer, and over those four years, I enjoyed bonding with my teammates and talking through the small details of every goal and save. After working in Bombay, I went on to graduate school at Georgia Tech, where research taught me patience and persistence—qualities I’ve also carried into running. Outside of work, I enjoy challenging myself to improve on my personal best in the half marathon. When I met my wife, I never imagined I’d become such a ramen enthusiast—but that’s all thanks to her! More recently, I’ve taken up paddling at Tempe Town Lake and participated in a dragon boat race. When I’m not traveling or catching up on a new show, I enjoy reading, playing the guitar, cooking, and spending time with Sukanya. As a parent I look forward to sharing the things I love—playing soccer in the park, reading stories, and encouraging a child’s curiosity and confidence as they discover the world around them.

When Baridhi and I first started talking after meeting online, I began to see how our lives could come together. His greatest strength is his patience and his openness to understanding new emotions and ideas, and as a father, he will express his protective and thoughtful nature in even deeper ways. He loves being outdoors — biking, running, hiking, paddling, swimming, and playing soccer — and I know he’ll find fun, engaging ways to explore and play with our future child, encouraging their dreams and passions while matching their enthusiasm with his own. Baridhi is very close to his family and speaks with his parents twice a day. That strong sense of belonging comes from the love and connection they’ve always shared, and he looks forward to creating that same security and closeness for our future child. Through his steady love and support, he will gently guide them as they grow toward their ambitions and dreams.

On quiet evenings, we like to sit on the patio and share old memories, letting the fresh air refresh us. We have a barbecue area and a community pool, and we can’t wait to spend warm afternoons there swimming and making memories with our future child. We also love that Phoenix has a wonderfully diverse community. We love exploring the many events hosted across the city, from pumpkin carving festivals to stand-up comedy shows. We enjoy celebrating our own traditions and experiencing those of others. Dressing up for these events and festivals will be even more fun with a new member in our family. There is a wonderful park nearby where kids often play. After evening strolls at there, we often stop by a nearby spot to grab some tasty snacks. We know a child would enjoy growing up here and creating memories they’ll cherish for years to come.

Sukanya’s family loves trying different cuisines, exploring new cafés and street food, and sharing conversations about food. With roots in northern and eastern India, their frequent travels give them the chance to experience a wide range of regional dishes throughout the year. They balance their protective care for her with personal freedom. For example, after she moved to Europe, they visited her to experience a different lifestyle and travel to nearby destinations together. Her sister is a botanist who brings a unique perspective on Ayurveda that enriches their daily lifestyle choices. Her brother-in-law works in AI and enjoys keeping up with the latest gadgets and technology. Baridhi’s side of the family is spread across different parts of the world. His parents are retired and enjoy taking walks in local parks in Dehradun, India and tending to their garden. With different flowers blooming throughout the year, they often remember family celebrations by how the garden looked at the time. They also love visiting his sister and brother-in-law in Sweden to spend time with their grandkids. With extended family spanning three continents (Asia, Europe, and America), staying connected through regular video calls is part of daily life. And of course, keeping track of the different time zones is essential!

We feel ready and hopeful as we look toward becoming parents. We hope to draw upon the love, support, and companionship we received from our families as we create that same nurturing environment for a child. From our parents, we’ve come to understand that parenting is both challenging and deeply rewarding. Without striving for perfection, we will support our future child with love, patience, and the skills they need to grow. We will serve as steady guides, offering compassion and care as they navigate their own journey in the world.
