Hello! We are Jorge and Karina from Los Angeles, California. We are a multicultural family, Jorge is from Spain and was born in Switzerland, and Karina’s mother is from Germany. These different roots are an important part of who we are and the life we share. We love traveling, spending time in nature, and simply being together talking, laughing and enjoying everyday moments. We are excited to begin a new chapter and to welcome a child into our lives, sharing our love, our values, and the world with them. We are truly grateful that you are taking the time to get to know us, and we deeply appreciate the opportunity to share this journey together.

While life hasn’t allowed us to achieve this in the way we once expected, it has led us to a path that feels deeply right for us. We believe that love is what makes a family. What matters most to us is the connection we share, the care we give, and the life we build together. Adoption is a meaningful and beautiful way to create our family, and we are ready to give all our love to a child.

Our first date was a coffee date in early 2021. There was an easy, natural connection between us. Karina quickly discovered Jorge’s love for chocolate when he ordered a mocha and a chocolate croissant, which left behind a ring of chocolate around his mouth which Karina found completely endearing. We connected through our shared passion for music and soon discovered how much we both love the outdoors and traveling.

We also value our differences, as they help us discover new things and grow together. Sometimes Karina enjoys reading by the beach while Jorge goes for a bike ride nearby and then we go for coffee and of course, chocolate croissants after. Our life together is built on companionship and what makes us strong is how we support one another, communicate openly, and enjoy building a life together filled with love and joy.

One of our favorite things to do is hop on our bicycles and discover new places, we even bring them along on road trips to national parks across different states so we can experience nature in a more meaningful, active way. Traveling is a big part of our lives, and we’re always excited to learn about new cities, countries, and cultures.

Staying healthy and balanced is also important to us. We enjoy cooking meals at home, making that time together part of our routine.

We’re also very family- and community-oriented. Some of our favorite moments are the simplest ones such as gathering with friends and family, laughing, and playing trivia games together. We never miss an opportunity to bring our family and friends together the celebrate, whether it is a holiday, or just because we haven’t seen each other in a while. Karina’s mother’s home, where Karina was raised, has served as the heart of countless family gatherings, creating treasured memories that continue to grow with each passing year. Those connections and shared experiences are something we truly value and hope to pass along.

I’m someone who truly values connection and the sense of family you create along the way. I’ve built a close-knit circle of friends who have become my extended family, and I cherish the time I spend with them just as much as the quiet, meaningful moments I share with my partner, Jorge.

I grew up in a neighborhood called the Island in Los Angeles. I lived on one of four dead-end streets that bordered a park. It created the perfect place for childhood adventures, playing and riding bikes with my neighborhood friends. Jenny, who grew up two houses down from me, is one of my best friends and I am lucky to share our childhood memories with her daughter Myla. This neighborhood showed me that family isn’t just who you are born to, it is who you build your life with.

I still remember one of our first dates; I took Karina for a picnic to one of the canyons in Los Angeles. It was then I realized I wanted to share my life with her. Her warm, caring heart creates a sense of comfort and belonging wherever she goes.

I love exploring the city with her, whether we’re going on bike rides or trying a new restaurant. What I love about Karina is her love of music. She loves Pearl Jam, never missing an opportunity to see them when they are touring. Every year she attends the Ohana Music Festival and makes it a weekend getaway with her friends. I know Karina is looking forward to bringing Myla, her best friend’s daughter, with her next year. Every time Myla sees Karina, her face lights up as she runs towards her. Seeing Myla and her together brings me so much joy. I feel so lucky to build this life with Karina.

Growing up in a very small village in northwest of Spain, I learned the importance of nature, hard work and staying close to the people around you. My grandmother, Mai Olimpia, played a big role in raising my sister and me. She taught us to appreciate simple things like growing our own food, caring for animals, and always continuing to learn. With my parents living in Switzerland, I would spend summers with them and it opened my eyes to new places and experiences, and that curiosity has stayed with me. Later, moving to Barcelona and eventually to Los Angeles allowed me to continue growing and exploring new chapters in life.

Meeting Karina brought new light and perspective into my life. Together, we create a balance of shared interests and individuality. At my core, I’m thoughtful, grounded, and I care deeply about creating a warm, supportive and loving home.

I felt an immediate connection with Jorge from the very beginning. His natural curiosity and love for new adventures bring so much excitement and joy into our lives. He has a deep appreciation for the outdoors and is always planning our next outing, whether it’s discovering a new trail or exploring a nearby city or small town together.

What I admire most about Jorge is the way we share the same core values. He leads with love, kindness, and respect in everything he does, and that shows in how he treats others every day. He has such a warm, genuine presence and an easy way of connecting with people.
As a teacher, Jorge has a special gift with children. He meets them right where they are, engaging with them, making them feel seen, and turning even simple moments into something fun and meaningful. Kids are naturally drawn to him, and it’s beautiful to watch the way he builds trust and brings out their joy. I am grateful for the love, joy and balance he brings to my life.

We live in a townhome in Los Angeles. Our community has a pool and jacuzzi, which makes it extra special for us since we always wanted to live in a place with a pool since we were kids. Our home is a place where we enjoy spending time. Jorge will be downstairs working on his bicycles in the garage, while Karina is swimming in the pool or competing with the squirrels for oranges from our tree. We are close to all that Los Angeles has to offer, including the Los Angeles National Forest, the beach, and a variety of museums, parks, and sports venues. Karina was born and raised in Los Angeles and many friends from her childhood live nearby as well as her mom which we visit often. Home is where we feel comfortable and have built a community where we are ready to share our lives with a child.

Family and community are at the heart of our lives, and we feel incredibly grateful to be surrounded by love both near and far. Karina’s extended family spans across North Carolina and Germany; staying connected with them has always been a meaningful part of her life. She visits whenever she can and keeps in close touch with her cousins regularly.

Karina also shares a very close bond with her mom, who lives nearby. They speak daily and spend time together often. Karina’s mother, Christa, is 88 years old and spending time with her has become one of our most important priorities. Being together as much as possible and creating lasting memories is important to us. Christa loves having people at the house and for every holiday there is always a big gathering of our closest friends and family, a tradition Karina and Jorge love and plan to continue. Christa has embraced Jorge as her own son, developing a bond which means so much to him, especially with his family being in Spain.

Growing up, Karina’s parents built a strong, supportive circle of friends who became like family, and that sense of “chosen family” continues to be an important part of our lives today.

Jorge’s family is in Spain, his mom, sister, nephews and extended family, and we stay closely connected through regular calls and messages, visiting them whenever possible. Family time with them is always something we deeply cherish. We’ve both been warmly welcomed into each other’s families, and it truly feels like one big, loving extended family. The strong relationships we have across generations and across the world have shaped who we are, and we value creating that same sense of connection, care, and belonging in our own lives.

We want to raise a child who feels loved, safe and supported every day. It’s important to us to help them grow into a confident person who can handle life’s challenges. We will teach them that some things are out of our control, but with hard work, patience and trying their best, they can get through difficult situations and keep moving forward. We will also always be open and honest about their adoption, so they grow up knowing their story and how much they are loved. It is really important to us to learn what matters most to you and keep those things part of your child’s life, so they always feel connected to you and where they come from.

We want our home to be a place where our child feels comfortable coming to us for help, advice, or just a hug. We will always be there for them, but we also want to help them learn to make their own choices and feel confident in themselves as they grow.

We are really grateful you took the time to read our story and get to know us. We know this is a very personal decision and we have a lot of respect for you. We also know that promises can sometimes feel like just words, but we truly mean what we say. We will do our best, every day, to give your child a safe, loving and happy life. We will care for them, support them and always remind them how loved they are. We are thankful for the chance to be considered.
