Hi! We’re Marni and Jeremy from Los Angeles, California. Thanks for taking the time to get to know us! We are really excited to adopt our first child, and we hope to give you a sense of who we are, what matters to us, and the kind of family we hope to be.

We began trying to grow our family naturally, but soon learned that would not be possible. Over five years, we pursued fertility treatments and held onto hope through every step. Though the path was different than we expected, it led us to adoption, which feels right for our family. Looking back, each step brought us here. We could not be more excited to become parents through adoption.

We met through online dating and had our first date at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, where we laughed at Renaissance paintings with babies that looked like miniature adults and animals that looked strangely human. We knew right away there was something special between us. Two and a half years later, we moved to Los Angeles together. Since then, we've celebrated our Leap Day wedding, traveled the world, explored museums, taken classes in French and Japanese, and learned about new cultures together. We can't wait to share that same curiosity, love, and sense of adventure with our future child.

We love exploring our city on foot, wandering through neighborhoods, discovering new places, and walking to dinner instead of driving. Travel is another passion of ours, and before visiting France and Japan, we took language classes to help us connect more deeply with the people and places we encountered. We enjoy museums, art openings, live music, and theater, and we hope to share with our child an appreciation for history, culture, and creativity through these experiences.

We're excited to experience the world through a child's eyes, whether that's finding a new neighborhood park, riding bikes to the beach, camping in the mountains, or traveling somewhere new together. Our hope is to raise a child who is curious, adventurous, and finds joy in both everyday discoveries and new experiences.

Marni is naturally caring, thoughtful, and the kind of person who makes others feel seen and supported. She has a great sense of humor and can bring lightness to difficult moments while also knowing when to be serious and present. She loves finding creative projects for the house, planning fun activities, and making everyday life a little more special. These qualities are what led her to become a pediatrician, where she gets to care for children and support families during both joyful and challenging times.

As a parent, those same qualities will shine through in creating a home filled with love, laughter, compassion, and endless opportunities for a child to learn, grow, and feel confident being exactly who they are.

Jeremy is deeply kind, thoughtful, and creative. He has a quiet steadiness that makes the people around him feel supported, and he is never afraid to stand up for what is right. He has a wonderful sense of humor, and as an artist, he has held onto a sense of curiosity and playfulness, whether he's skateboarding or finding beauty in the natural world. Creativity is woven into every part of his life. He builds custom frames and installs artwork for artists and collectors, and he is also an immensely talented painter whose work is beginning to gain recognition, including a recent solo exhibition. Through every challenge we've faced, he has been my steady source of strength. I know those same qualities of kindness, creativity, patience, and unwavering love will make him an incredible father.

We live in the heart of Los Angeles, just a short drive from both the beach and the mountains. We love our walkable neighborhood, where we can stroll to local restaurants and cafés, and our home has a spacious backyard that's perfect for gathering with friends and family. We also enjoy exploring the many neighborhoods that make Los Angeles unique, whether spending the day by the ocean, wandering through Koreatown, Melrose, or Beverly Hills, visiting one of the city's many museums, or attending the annual neighborhood festivals that celebrate the city's rich cultures and communities. We love the variety our city offers, as well as lovely weather nearly all year round.

Living in Los Angeles has helped us build close friendships with people from many racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds. We love exploring the city’s diverse neighborhoods, trying foods and traditions from around the world, learning languages, sharing meals and celebrations with friends, and world travelling. Our local museums also spark meaningful conversations about culture, history, race, and identity, helping us reflect and grow closer to the people in our lives.

While Marni’s side of the family is in the Los Angeles area and we are fortunate to see them often, Jeremy's family lives in Wisconsin, and we see them at least twice per year.

Grandma Susan and Grandpa Alan live just an hour away from us, and Uncle Austin is a little closer. Grandma Joyce and Papa Larry live in Wisconsin and visit at least twice a year, but will likely visit more once a new grandchild arrives, as they are retired and love to travel. Uncle Alex and Aunt Jamie also live in Wisconsin with cousins Lincoln (age 14) and Oliver (age 12). We see Alex and family at least yearly when we visit Wisconsin, but they also sometimes visit Los Angeles. We see Uncle Casey and Aunt Lisa a little less often, and they are parents to cousins Cullen (age 17) and Taylor (age 22).

We also have many friends in Los Angeles that make up our chosen family, from Aunt Andrea, Uncle Jean, and Marcel (age 2), to Aunt Kait, Uncle Mike, and Jamie (age 3).

We hope to create a home where curiosity, creativity, and exploration are part of everyday life. We want to raise a child who appreciates the beauty of the world around them, whether camping, traveling, or discovering something new. We hope to introduce them to a wide range of experiences, from sports and music to languages, art, or chess, while encouraging them to pursue the passions that bring them joy. We will support them through both the excitement and challenges of learning.

We also hope to raise a child who is kind, respectful, and curious about others. We want them to build friendships with people from different backgrounds, value fairness and compassion, and learn from different perspectives. Our hope is that they grow up with both a sense of wonder and a thoughtful, open mind, ready to explore the world with confidence and empathy.
